India sweep hockey test series against Japan

Disappointing start, but a dazzling finish. That was the bottom-line of the four-match men’s hockey test series as hosts India mauled Japan 4-0 in the last game to clinch a 3-0 triumph here at Kalinga Stadium Hockey Complex today.

The series victory, preceded by the bronze medal in the Sultan Azlan Shah Tournament in Malaysia, is sure to boost the morale of captain Sardar Singh & Co for the FIH World League Semifinals at Antwerp, Belgium, where India will battle it out with nine other countries, including Australia, Pakistan and England from June 20 to July 5.
